the 2010 hail season is already “hot”. Above you can see some nice hailstones which a colleague of mine (Furio Pieri) have found on the http://24ur.com/ website, where they said that it was due to the Slovenian hailstorm of yesterday afternoon. I hope that Mateja can confirm that these local obs are true. I attach also some MSG_RGB pictures, from which T-Ref diagram (at least before 14:30UTC ) I was not expecting so severe hail.
The Sound_Analys.PY output for the Udine sounding of 20100617 at 12 UTC (launched at 1100UTC) was:

We asked also the extra sounding of 18 UTC, but at that time everything was already finished.
Unfortunately in FVG we had nothing similar… but we still hope to receive some severe weather during the upcoming week-end.
Ciao!

yes, of course I can confirm! I am attaching IR- cold ring at 14:45 UTC (without parallax correction).
Regards, Mateja
The T-re profiles are definitely indicating severe storms. See that glaciation occurs only near -40C very conspicuously.
Best regards, Danny
later on yesterday NW Croatia was hit by a large one. Attached are radar and satellite data! Large hail in many places! Even the capital Zagreb experienced some.
Best regards, Natasa
A movie of our Fossalon di Grado (GO) radar VMI together with our OSMER ARPA FVG 5' station (a frame every 10'),
the vertical time series of the Udine sounding ThetaE and wind -together with some instabilities parameters (CAPE, CIN, LFC)- and lastly the Sound_Analys.PY output for the 12UTC Udine sounding.
